Attendance
- You are encouraged to
attend all lectures. Please notify me in advance in case of a conflict.
- During class, you are
required to participate in in-class discussions.
- Be alert to all the
questions I raise in class and try to be the first to answer them.
- You are encouraged to
ask me any questions, or ask me to repeat, at any time.
- All questions from
students are deemed good questions, all student answers are encouraged.
- Class room
participation can affect your final score by up to +- 3 points.

· Some of the HW problems WILL appear in
exams or quizzes.

Homework
- Homework will be
assigned approximately every two weeks and will be collected.
- Unannounced quizzes
may be given at the beginning of a class. The quizzes will be very short and will cover the reading
material plus the material discussed in the previous two lectures.

Exams
- There will be a total
of three exams, at the end of Chapter 2, 4, and 6 respectively.
- Exams are
in-class. You will be allowed to
bring a crib sheet to the exam.
Calculators are allowed.
- No make up exams
except for documented emergencies.
In case a make-up exam is necessary, you will be given an oral
exam in place of the missed exam.

Grades
Weighting:
- 25% for each exam
- 12% for quizzes
- 10% for homework
- Attendance, in-class
participation and other performance: +- 3%
