Myth:
Email threats are not serious crimes.
Truth: In fact, nearly
all email threats are considered very serious crimes.
In the U.S. a teenager, Jahair Navam, was arrested after
an anonymous email bomb threat sent to both IBM and
Microsoft was traced back to him.

In addition, threats to individuals are
also taken seriously. A California man spent two years
in jail for sending email death threats, and a UC-Irvine
student was convicted of sending email threats to fellow
students.
