Comparing Anonymous Mail and Email

Anonymous mail:

• A letter with no return address so sender's identity is unknown
• Contains clues to link the letter to sender such as city postmarked or fingerprints

Anonymous email:

• Does not reveal sender's identity
• Similar to a letter with no return address
• May have clues linking the email to the sender. (Further clue discussion to follow.)
• Usually contains some kind of address in the "from" field, which may or may not be a valid email address
