Biosketch
Vijay
Chandru, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India
Vijay Chandru (PhD, MIT. 1982) is a professor at the Indian Institute of
Science where he holds joint appointments as professor of Computer Science
& Automation and Management Studies. He is also a founder and Chief
Scientist of Strand Genomics, a bioinformatics and computational biology
company based in Bangalore. His research interests are in computational
mathematics and algorithms. Professor Chandru has taught at Purdue
University and University of Pennsylvania and has worked at IBM's T.J.
Watson Research Center as a visiting scientist. He is also an honorary
professor of the National Institute of Advanced Studies and the Jawaharlal
Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in India. He is a fellow of
the Indian Academy of Sciences.
